The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) kicks off their World Cup qualifiers against Serbia on October 10th in Nashville, Tennessee. The Serbian National Team is expected to field a lineup that is very similar to the one that faced off against the United States in November.
The Serbian National Team is ranked fifteenth in the FIFA World Rankings, and they are coming off a pair of disappointing losses to UEFA Euro 2016 finalists Portugal and Croatia. Serbia is also without captain and key player Lazar Markovic, who is currently recovering from a hamstring injury.
The Serbian National Team has been in good form lately, winning their last two matches by goals from Ivica Olic and Dini Pjanic. Serbia’s most recent performance came in a 2-0 victory over Azerbaijan in the Azerbaijan Cup. Olic led the Serbia team in scoring with two goals.
The Serbian National Team is scheduled to play their first qualifier against the United States on October 10th at the Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The United States Men’s National Team is also scheduled to play their first qualifier against Serbia on October 17th at home in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
