with Wests Tigers, Blake Lawrie re-signs …
The 2020 NRL Off-Season is sure to be one to remember, with plenty of big moves already made – particularly in the South Sydney Rabbitohs’ camp.
The Rabbitohs have been extremely busy in the transfer market, bringing home one of their own in Siliva Havili. Havili, who was with the Canberra Raiders since 2016, is set to provide a great boost to the Rabbitohs forward pack. Coach Wayne Bennett believes that Havili will prove to be a great addition to the squad, and that his experience and know-how will be invaluable.
Meanwhile, the Wests Tigers have moved quickly to secure the signature of Brandon Wakeham. Wakeham, a former Bulldogs Junior, has been with the Canterbury-Bankstown reserves for the past two seasons, and has shown plenty of potential.
Following on from the departure of Ryan Matterson to Parramatta, the Tigers have brought in a solid replacement in Wakeham. Coach Michael Maguire believes that Wakeham will be a great asset to the team and will fit in perfectly with the structure that they are trying to build.
The Rabbitohs have also re-signed Blake Lawrie. Lawrie, who has been with the club since 2018, has established himself in the Rabbitohs’ forward pack and helped them to a strong finish in 2020.
It’s clear that the Rabbitohs are looking to build a strong team for the 2023 season, and the moves that they have made in the transfer market certainly reflect their ambition. With Havili, Wakeham, and Lawrie all at the club, the Rabbitohs look set for a promising season.
