Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade were proud parents on Saturday night, honoring their daughter Zaya at the 2021 NAACP Image Awards.
The couple, who welcomed Zaya in 2018, gave a heartfelt speech about their daughter, who is transgender, during the virtual ceremony.

“We are proud parents of a child in the LGBTQ+ community, and we’re proud allies, as well,” Union said. “We take our roles and our responsibilities as parents very seriously.”
Wade added, “We are proud to let you know that our daughter Zaya is our hero. She’s compassionate, loving, whip-smart and we are so proud of her.”
